More about Manzanita - Neahkahnie surfspot

Average beachbreak at Manzanita is made more attractive by easy access and a cute, upscale beach community. NW wind accelerates around the Cape Falcon-Neahkahnie Mountain headland making this spot one of Oregon’s saltwater windsurfing Meccas. The reef just north of Neahkahnie Beach can fire on a clean N to W swell, producing a long grinding righthand point wave. Legends abound, information is scarce. Large rocks in the impact zone along the cobble point make for limited surfing opportunities anywhere but the beach-headland corner on smaller swells. From the headland south (Rockaway Beach and beyond), miles of featureless beachbreak, driftwood, and grassy windblown white sand beaches and dunes. Surf potential on small, clean swells with E or no wind, but that’s a rarity indeed. Barview Jetty on the south entrance of Tillamook Bay offers organised jetty surf with fun, bowling waves.

Park where any small lane meets the sand.
