When it’s good, Masonboro Inlet can be one of the best waves on the East Coast. Deeper water off the inlet and a long jetty combine to produce longer, walled-up lefts and short, hollow rights especially on a NE swell.

Situated on an isolated and uninhabited island between Wrightsville Beach and Carolina Beach, it’s always crowded with hot locals, who can access this wave by boat, rather than the long tiring paddle required to get across the fast-flowing and busy inlet.
