It's a spot that can consistently have swell, though it works best during the wet season when conditions align right.

The waves here break over live coral and generally offer a right-hander. Mawan handles swell sizes starting from around 3 feet (0.9 meters), making it suitable for intermediate surfers. The best conditions usually come with a southeast or southwest swell direction, particularly when the wind is coming from the northwest. While the right point break is the main attraction, there's also a less favorable left corner across the bay. Here, the mountains provide some shelter from side-on southeast winds, but it's not as good as the main break at Mawan.
