Swell magnet outer reef with plenty of water over it and lots of take-off spots. Works well in a small, peaky W swell, but when it is double overhead plus, Mejillones becomes a real challenge. Shifty, powerful and some fast hollow sections, it's always bigger than it looks.

Only serious riders with extra inches should take on the tricky rock and urchin infested entry and exit. Low tide currents are strong. Sometimes crowded with protective locals.
