Surf: Town break that faces NE so needs that rare swell direction to get in. Reef in the middle of the beach can hold sandbars but it's pretty average. Much better, more consistent rights can be found off Spruce Cape out on the headland. Environment: Much of Kodiak City is in the swell shadow of Woody and Long Island, which definitely have some spots on the north and east-facing coasts.
