Moya Left surf guide

Moya Left is a surf spot located along a long, black sand beach, making it a unique place for surfers looking for some fun waves. It breaks on an outside coral reef and can get a bit unpredictable at times. If you're planning a trip here, expect a nice vibe but be ready for it to be a bit inconsistent overall.

The best conditions for Moya Left roll in during mid to high tide, as the low tide can reveal shallow areas of the reef, which can get dangerous. The optimal swell direction is Southeast, but it can also handle swells coming from the South and SouthWest. The spot works well with swell sizes starting from about 2 ft (0.6 meters) and can produce left-breaking waves over dead coral. When the wind is coming from the Northeast, it often creates cleaner surf. This spot is best suited for intermediate surfers due to its more challenging conditions.

There are nice peaks to check out on the beach to the north, especially at low tide, where you'll find some sandbanks that help shape the waves. Just remember that the strong current in the lagoon can make paddling back to shore a bit of a workout, so be prepared for that!
