Overview
Mukkam is a promising right-hand point in the town of Mukkampeta. The wave peels over a mix of rock ledge and sand, and the setup sits sheltered from the southwest monsoon, which helps it hold up when other spots get blown out.
When It Works
The point draws swell from southwest through north to northeast, with southwest (SW) swell the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.2 m / 4 ft, so there is a decent window to catch it once a clean point swell lines up. Consistency is a little hit or miss, but it rewards you on the days it comes together.
Wind and Tide
Look for west (W) offshore wind to clean up the face. It comes in on low to mid tide, with a rising tide generally the better call. At the lower tides the wave breaks over rocks close to shore, so time your sessions with the push of water in mind.

Mukkam is a friendly option for beginners, and the lineup tends to stay quiet, so you can find space to work on your point riding without much of a crowd.
