Overview
Murion Left is a playful lefthand reef that wraps around the island's northern tip, peeling over live coral. It stands out as one of the more accessible options for quality offshore surfing in a stretch of coast where most of the good waves are tough to reach.
When It Works
The wall is consistent, so there's usually something to ride when you make the trip out. It draws swell from south through west (S-W), with west (W) swell the best match. Expect a rideable wave from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for a south (S) offshore wind to groom the wall. The reef can work through most of the tide, across low, mid, and high, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers. Expect a quiet lineup with plenty of room to yourself.
Access
Getting here means going by boat. Murion Left sits about 10km (6mi) northeast of Exmouth, where boats regularly head out to the dive site.
