Overview
Mutrakni Point is the only obvious left point discovered in Ghana so far, found by Ajemra and breaking over sand-covered reef. It has a good reputation locally. In bigger swells a second left shows itself out on the exposed isthmus, and there's a right that peels off the beach corner on the east side. Further west you'll find Axim's hefty beachbreak by the beach resort with a fun reef nearby, and Ankobra beach near the rivermouth is worth a look too.
When It Works
The point draws swell from southwest through southeast, with south swell the best match. It breaks over a rock ledge and sand and works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft. Consistency is moderate, so expect worthwhile days rather than something that's on every time you turn up.
Wind and Tide
Look for north offshore wind to clean it up. The point can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers. The lineup tends to stay quiet, so you won't be fighting for waves when it's working.
