Nai Harn Beach surf guide

Nai Harn Beach is located at the southern tip of Phuket, making it one of the more unique spots on the island. This beach has a laid-back vibe, surrounded by lush scenery and a nice lagoon. It's known for its beautiful sand and decent surf conditions, especially when the right swells come in. The area can get a bit busy, but it still maintains a chill atmosphere that's appealing to surfers looking for a more relaxed experience.

The surf at Nai Harn works best with swells from the SouthWest and can handle sizes around 1 ft (0.3 meters) up to much bigger waves. When the winds are from the NorthEast, and the tide is low or mid, the conditions can line up nicely. You’ll find fun right-breaking waves, and even when it’s smaller, nice sandbanks near the lagoon outflow can deliver some speedy walls and longer rides. There are also several peaks at the beach, particularly at the north end, where you can catch some variety, including a right reefbreak near the Le Royal Meridien Phuket Yacht Club. This spot is more suited for intermediate surfers, as it offers some challenge but also some opportunities to improve your skills.

While Nai Harn may not be the most consistent surf spot around, it definitely has its moments. On good days, you'll find a friendly crowd of surfers who are there to enjoy the waves. Remember, it's always good to check conditions before heading out, as the surf can change with the tides and swell. So, if you're in the area and the forecast looks good, Nai Harn Beach is worth a session.
