Nipussi surf guide

Nipussi is a surf spot nestled close to shore, making it a more manageable option for intermediate surfers. It's known for some consistent waves that can work off the Bank Vaults swell train, which can be a good target when conditions align. This spot often sees decent action when north winds blow in, especially with a smaller swell. While it might not be the most famous break around, it can still serve up some fun sessions.

The optimal swell direction is from the southwest, but it can handle swells coming from the south and west as well, working best at sizes around 3ft (about 0.9 meters). You can expect right-breaking waves over live coral, and the spot is accessible across a couple of reef sections. Intermediates will find it a bit juicier than some other local breaks, with opportunities for some solid drops. The inside zippers can even offer a tube ride if you position yourself right. Tides can be high, low, or mid, so there's a bit of flexibility on that front.

Nipussi features a well-covered reef which encourages you to work the spot before it goes dry. Just keep an eye out for the sign-posted shut down, as it can change quickly. Overall, it’s a chill spot to hit up when the other breaks aren’t delivering.
