More about Niyodo surfspot

Niyodo, is another stellar Japanese rivermouth break, with the rights usually being better and the odd short left depending on swell angle. On the good days, which admittedly are few and far between, multiple barrel sections will turn down the line over the cobble anchored sandbars. Like Monobe, it's fickle and rainfall often dictates the state of the sand and of course how many typhoons blow through. Nevertheless it is a Japanese classic and many people come from far away to surf the serious tubes.

Gets heavily zoomed on small days and weekends, when some localism is to be expected. Big days there are more watchers than takers and only the best surfers will handle the power and the rips.
