The surf off this long stretch of residential blocks north of the main Virginia Beach area is usually smaller and therefore quieter than the town breaks to the south. Feeble in small swells when the outside break fats out over the deep-water trough before the shorebreak. This makes low tide and bigger swells the only way to go.
Summer surfing and parking restrictions apply. The adjacent First Landing State Park offers good camping, virtually on the beach.
