North Jetty (Florida) surf guide
Surf: This mile-long jetty blocks any average swell from a southerly direction. Anything with north in it can give some long righthanders and shorter lefts. Wedgy waves are formed from mid incoming through high tide. Experienced longboarders dominate the peak; younger rippers dominate the scraps, leaving some tasty crumbs for well-behaved visitors.
Environment: Although it is right at the rivermouth, locals report no real pollution problems. North Jetty is always crowded, and the longstanding local pecking order demands respect. Parking is right on the beach, which can cause problems at high tide. There is a campground directly behind the beach.
