North Street is a popular surf spot located in Ocean City. It’s the closest break to the inlet, which means it gets plenty of wave action. The sand tends to build up at the north end, especially after a summer of south swells. This spot can handle swells up to 10 ft (3 m) and draws in a decent crowd, especially since it’s known for being one of the more consistent breaks in the area.
This break works best with a north-east swell, although it can also take on swells from the south. It’s suitable for intermediate surfers, and you’ll find waves breaking over sand. The optimal conditions usually roll in with mid to high tides. It’s worth noting that the south side tends to work better during lower tides, while the north side generates some good rights after mid tide.
When you head to North Street, make sure to be respectful of the local neighborhood, as they’re not keen on surfers changing in public. There's free roadside parking nearby, so suit up quietly! For those looking for full facilities, the 2nd Street area is just a short walk away.
