Surf: A short fast right breaks off the end of northeastern point of Oamaru Harbour wall in a decent sized NE-SE swell. Failing that check the beaches to the south of the headland. Directions: From Oamaru main road State Highway 1 heading south through the city, veer left into the old part of town on Thames Street. At the end of the street turn left onto Itchen Street, then right onto Tyne Street, then left onto Arun Street. From here you can either go to the end of Waterfront Road and find a park, or turn left into Marine parade and find a park. Suit up and walk out one of the breakwaters and paddle out to the break. The surf break right at the end of the MacAndrew breakwater, the north eastern most point of the Harbour. Environment: Watch out for boat traffic around the entrance. Very inconsistent.
