More about Osbourne surfspot

Osbourne is a right pointbreak sheltered from all W winds and the long walk down the point can be worthwhile as it can offer very long rides around mid tide.

General: At the very top of Cow Bay is a long right-hand pointbreak, peaking off the tip of the point over a rock shelf. The wave winds down the point to an inside cove, and there are tube sections. Around the corner from here is Moose, the most popular beachbreak in the area. Tides: Low to mid tide Size: Chest high-overhead Wind: Northwest Swell: S, SE Bottom: Rock Paddling: Not too bad. Spot Rating: Can be good on the right wind/swell combo.

Intermediate to advanced depending on the surf.

Park at the church in the cove and walk down the beach.

Storm dependent: tropical cyclones in the late summer and fall with frontal activity from late fall through winter into spring.

Crowd Factor: Weekends and summers can be packed; weekdays are uncrowded. Local Vibe: Depends on who you meet.

Pretty good.

Cold winter temperatures.
