Oued Cherrat is a surf spot located along the coast between Rabat and Casablanca. It's positioned at the end of a half-mile dirt road and offers a variety of waves, mostly well-suited for intermediate surfers. The area surrounding the beach is typically overcrowded, especially on weekends, as bodyboarders frequently choose this spot. While it's not the most pristine environment, it provides access to some decent waves when other spots might not be working. Getting to the beach can involve a short walk, but it's generally straightforward.

The surf here is a mix of beachbreak and reef, primarily favoring both right and left-handers. It can handle swell sizes from about 0.6 meters (2 feet) to 2.4 meters (8 feet) and is best when there's northwest or west-northwest swell. The bottom consists of uneven reef and sandy areas, with some grass-covered shelves adding to the unique texture. The waves can be a bit shifty, but they often deliver fun sessions, even with smaller swells. The spot works well at low to mid tide and can be sheltered from onshore winds when the breeze comes from the east or southeast. It’s particularly good during the autumn and winter months when the North Atlantic storm track brings consistent swells.

As for access, it's fairly easy, with a marked turn-off leading you directly to the beach area. You may encounter a local kid asking for a small parking fee, but apart from that, the locals are generally friendly and curious about visitors. Most surfers here ride shortboards, funboards, longboards, or fishes, making it a versatile spot for different styles. Just be prepared for some crowds during peak times, but it’s not overly congested on weekdays.
