Palmetto Point surf guide

Palmetto Point is located on the west coast of Barbuda, where you can find a picturesque pink sand beach. This spot is known for its pristine environment, making it a great place for surfers looking to connect with nature. It’s ideal to visit during the bigger swells of the year, as the conditions can be pretty flat otherwise.

The surf at Palmetto Point usually works best with northwesterly swells, but it can also handle north and northeast swells. When the waves come in big, you can expect powerful right-hand barrels that break close to the shore. These conditions are best suited for expert surfers since the take-off can be tricky, and the waves can produce serious tubes in shallow water. On big southeast swells, you might find some lefts coming through. The spot can handle swell sizes starting from about 0.3 meters (1 ft) and up, making it pretty versatile during good conditions.

This spot offers camping options, but if you choose to stay overnight, be sure to bring all necessary supplies with you, as you’ll need to pack everything in and out. The area really shines when the swells are active, so plan your trip accordingly to catch the best waves.
