Palmetto Point surf guide
Surf: On the west coast at Palmetto Point, an epic, righthand, sandbar barrel will form in big N to NE swells as they sweep down the leeward side of Barbuda. This shorebreak right can produce serious tubes in very little water, really suitable for experts only. Breaks very close to the sand and doesn't let up, making the take-off really tricky. On big SE swells, lefts are a possibility, and the pink sand beach is stunningly beautiful. The west and south coasts are usually flat unless a hurricane has entered the area.
Directions: Palmetto Point
Environment: Pristine environment, where camping is an option, but take all supplies in and out. Only worth checking on the bigger swells of the year.
