Pansukian is a surf spot located near the same-named resort, adding a bit of charm to the area. It’s one of the original waves ridden on Siargao, and while it used to attract more surfers, these days it tends to be pretty empty. The beach features stunning white sands leading to the water, creating a nice atmosphere for a day of surfing.
The waves here break over a live coral shelf, making for some challenging conditions. Pansukian mostly works well with swells coming from the East and Southeast and can handle sizes around 2 to 6 feet (0.6 to 1.8 meters). The waves generally break to the right, and the spot is best suited for intermediate surfers. If you’re planning a session, aim for low to mid tide for optimal conditions, and keep an eye out for north winds, which are the most favorable.
Additionally, Daku Island blocks some of the northeast swells, providing a bit of protection, which can be a plus for those looking to avoid the crowd but still wanting some fun waves. So, grab your board and check it out if you’re keen on exploring Siargao's surf scene!
