Paris surf guide

Surfing in Paris is all about finding those fun little spots scattered across five sheltered bays. These reefs provide a decent break, especially when the wind is in the right direction. The ride is a bit of a trek, taking 30 minutes by boat from London, but if you're going overland, you’re looking at about 2 hours and 30 minutes.

The best conditions for surfing here are when the swell is coming from the Northwest with some South or North swells mixed in. It handles swell sizes starting from about 2ft (0.6m) and can be fun up to 4-5ft (1.2-1.5m), but do expect some close-outs at those bigger sizes. The waves break over dead coral, and you'll find both left and right wave directions. The ideal wind is from the Southeast, and you can surf during low, mid, and high tide, though keep in mind that this spot is better for intermediate surfers.

Since this area features mostly reefs, it’s recommended to keep an eye on your gear and be prepared for the unique challenges that come with reef surfing. The trade winds help to keep the waves consistent, making it a pretty solid option for a surf session when you're in the vicinity.
