Pascuales surf guide

Pascuales is located in Colima and is often compared to Puerto Escondido in Oaxaca. It features a black sand beach known for its powerful beachbreak waves that can get pretty intense. The surf here can be just as heavy as Puerto, making it a spot for surfers looking for a real challenge. It attracts surfers looking to test their skills with the often intimidating conditions, but it’s also known for being a place that can become crowded during the right swells.

The surf here really shines during spring and summer, when you can expect swell sizes from about 1.2 meters (4 ft) up to 6 meters (20 ft). The best swell direction is from the southwest, but it can also handle swells from the south and west. Generally, you’ll find both left and right beach breaks breaking over a sandy bottom. The optimal wind direction is northeast, and it works well at any tide level, whether low, mid, or high. However, it's important to note that when the surf is pumping, the current can be tough, and only expert surfers will be at ease with the powerful waves.

Access to the spot is pretty straightforward with parking right on the beach, making it easy to get to your gear. If you plan to surf here, it's a good idea to have a few board options, like a shortboard or a gun for the big days. Just remember, the locals are known to charge hard, so showing respect and humility is key when you hit the lineup.
