Peregian Creek surf guide

Peregian Creek is a laid-back surf spot located near Peregian Beach, a bit less crowded than neighboring Coolum. The area has several access points, making it easy to reach and enjoy. While it can get a local crowd, it's usually not as busy, which is a plus if you're looking for some space to catch a few waves.

This spot works best with a southeast swell, handling sizes from around 1ft (0.3m) and can also pick up some northeast waves. The breaks here occur over sand and offer beach waves that go both left and right, so there's plenty to ride for different preferences. The area is suitable for beginners, especially during low to mid tide, and it’s a good idea to check the wind as northwest is the best direction for clean waves.

Although it’s beginner-friendly, more experienced surfers can also find fun peaks to challenge themselves. The softer sand bottom makes it a comfortable spot to practice and progress. When you’re in the water, keep an eye out for other surfers, as while it’s less crowded, there’s still a crew out on most days.
