Pescadero surf guide

Pescadero is a long beach located in Baja California, known for its varied surf conditions and beautiful scenery. This spot can attract a good crowd, especially during the peak surf season. The beach features both sandy areas and reef breaks, providing options for surfers of different skill levels, although the more challenging waves tend to draw a more experienced crowd.

The surf here can be pretty decent, with A-frame waves forming over sandy reefs that are close to shore. The ideal swell direction is from the SouthWest, but you can also catch waves from the South and NorthWest. Pescadero is capable of handling swell sizes ranging from 2ft (0.6m) and up, so there's usually something to ride. The waves break both left and right, and the main spot is at the north end, known as San Pedrito. This righthand reef can handle plenty of NW swells, but watch out for those midday onshores, which can make the conditions less than perfect.

If you're heading out to surf, keep in mind that the best wind direction is from the NorthEast, which can help keep the waves clean. Pescadero works at low, mid, and high tides, so you have a range of options depending on the time of day. Just remember, this spot is not really a place for beginners, so it's best suited for intermediate surfers looking to improve their skills.
