More about Picnic Tables surfspot

General: Patrick Air Force Base, offering similar breaks including Picnic Tables, First and Second Light and Hangers, also features the first signs of coquina - sedimentary shelves of reef-like rock that run all the way south into Indialantic and make getting in out of the water potentially hazardous. Driving south from Cocoa Beach, Picnic Tables is the first dirt parking lot on the left. The wave is usually peaky and fun, provided there is a bit of a swell. Tides: Low to mid tide; High tide sometimes okay here Size: Thigh-1' overhead Wind: W Swell: NE-ENE-E Bottom: Sand with an occasional rock Paddling: Usually easy but can be some paddling on bigger swells. Spot Rating: Average spot along Patrick Air Force Base. This is not really a destination for most, they are at the other more popular spots along the base.
