Pinarellu surf guide
Surf: It takes a strong SE/E swell to get the long lefts spinning down the sandy reef. Quality shape draws the locals who consider it one of Corsica’s finest assets. Skill and respect required.
Environment: Scores a 2 for consistency and an 8 for crowds. Further up the coast there are some more possibilities providing the E swell is arriving on the beaches that are usually placid, turquoise playgrounds for the summer tourists. This east coastline is geologically different, flatter and built on sedimentary rock, edged by long sandy beaches that offer little variation. There are a number of lakes that may create some good sandbars at the entrances, but rips will be strong. Way up north near Bastia, Arinella has regular peaks that are nicely angled to pick up NE swells in winter.
