Platja Migjorn is a long beach located on the beautiful island of Formentera. It’s usually a classic Mediterranean beach and can look pretty calm during the summer months. However, if you visit outside the peak season, you might find some decent waves rolling in, especially when a strong South windswell hits. The beach is known for its stunning views and pristine environment, making it a nice spot for a relaxing day whether you're surfing or not.
This spot typically handles swell sizes starting at around 1 ft (0.3 m) and can pick up waves from different directions, mainly from the South, Southeast, and Southwest. You can ride left and right waves here, with the breaks happening over sand and some boulders. It’s a good place for beginners as the conditions can be gentle. Low, mid, and high tides all work here, but a North wind is preferred to get the best out of the waves.
Despite being a great place to catch some waves, it’s rare to see many surfers out, just the occasional holiday-maker on a boogie board. There are plenty of access points along the beach, making it easy to find your own spot. If you're looking for a quiet surf with minimal crowds and some decent quality, Platja Migjorn can be a nice option on Formentera.
