Surf: Just before Tongoy Bay, check at Playa Blanca, which is sheltered from S-W swells by Punta Lengua de Vaca. Close-out city and really only suited to beginners staying in the beachfront condos. Environment: There's even more swell protection, but no good sandbars, down the road at Playa Socos.
