El Tubo was a right breaking next to the pier, but both disappeared in 2012. Playa Chinchorro is more of a beginner-friendly break where the surf schools operate and it will work better on NW swells at higher tide.
Lots of summer surf school action and lots of tents on the beach. Only medium consistency.
