Playa del Puerco surf guide

Playa del Puerco is a long stretch of sandy beach located between La Barrosa and Roche. It's not usually packed, making it a great spot to escape the crowds. The area is pretty laid-back, and it offers a nice escape for surfers looking to enjoy some time in the water without too much hassle.

The surf here is best with a southwesterly swell, but it can also handle some northwesterly swell. It works well with swell sizes starting from about 2 feet (0.6 meters) and breaks over the sand, setting up left and right waves. At low to mid tide, you can expect some fast rides, but be prepared for the possibility of close-outs at lower tides. This spot is suitable for beginners who are looking to practice in a less crowded environment.

Access to Playa del Puerco is fairly straightforward. You just need to take a right turn down a dirt track before you hit the Urb Roche when coming from Sancti Petri. Check the waves from the cliff top before heading down to the beach. Overall, it's a pretty chill spot to catch some waves.
