Visible from the North Panamericana highway near Km 336, Playa Grande is home to good righthand beachbreaks and an excellent lefthand reefbreak that fires with S-SW swells. Extremely shallow even at high tide, the hungry reef delivers a very fast and tubular but short wave that never closes-out or gets busy. The vert take-off is followed by a slabby, square barrel that is one of the most dangerous waves in Peru! Experts only.
Visible from highway. At Km 336 of the North Panamericana highway you must take a sand-road detour of 1 Km approx. Medium consistency and rarely crowded thanks to its isolation and heaviness. Beware of rips.
