More about Playa Santa Teresa surfspot

Playa Santa Teresa has quickly become a mainstream spot because this white sand beachbreak is hollow and consistent, especially at lower tides. Lava rock ledges protrude out and catch the sand at a number of named spots like Suck Rock, La Lora Amarilla and Casa Cecilia. Suck Rock is shallow fast tubes in front of exposed rocks on W-NW swells for experts only. La Lora has long, loping rights in NW swells and shorter peaks in SW at lower tides. Casa Cecilia is fun peaks when small, but challenging among the reefy peaks when it gets overhead in a SW swell.

This is the commercial centre for the area and has an array of surf shops, schools and accommodation for all tastes and budgets. Locals dominate Suck Rock and only experienced surfers will be getting out the back on bigger days. Beware rips, urchins and beginners out of their depth.
