Playón de Bayas surf guide

Playón de Bayas is a long, dune-backed beach located in Spain, known for its shifting peaks that work well at all tides. This spot is pretty consistent and often offers bigger waves compared to the surrounding areas, which means it's usually not that crowded, making it a decent choice for surfers looking for some space.

The surf here is generally good for intermediate surfers. The optimal swell direction is Northwest, and it can handle swell sizes of up to 3 feet (about 1 meter). You can expect beach breaks that produce both left and right waves, which is a nice variety. The best conditions usually come with Southeast winds, and all tide phases—low, mid, and high—can work here, though you might find the waves lining up best at lower tides.

While the surf can be exciting, it's important to keep an eye on the local conditions as they can change. The western end of the beach, near Los Quebrantos and the jetty, is known for producing some good lefts, so that's worth checking out if you're in the area.
