Plentzia is a surf spot located near the town of the same name. It features a sandbar left-hander that breaks between a rivermouth and a pier. This wave is best surfed when there are larger swells, as it only works on those days. During the winter months, it's moderately consistent, but expect it to fill up with surfers, especially on weekends.
The wave tends to handle swells starting from 1ft (0.3 meters) and performs best with swell coming from the Northwest, though it can also work with west and north swells. For ideal conditions, look for low to mid tide, and it's best when the wind is coming from the west. This spot is really suited for intermediate surfers, so make sure you're at that level if you plan to hit the waves here.
On weekends, Plentzia can get pretty crowded due to its popularity, particularly among longboarders. When the wave is working in the winter, parking isn’t usually a hassle. In summer, the beach tends to attract a lot of beachgoers, so if you’re looking for some peace to surf, it might be worth planning your visit when the crowds are thinner.
