Point Leo surf guide

Point Leo is a surf spot located along the southern coast of Victoria, Australia. It's known for its consistent waves and friendly vibe, making it a popular choice for surfers of all abilities. The main area, Suicides, works best on sizable days and offers a fun surf experience. The spot has more than one break, so you have options depending on the swell and your skill level.

The main break at Point Leo is a right point that features long, workable walls when the swell is decent. It generally works with swells coming from the south or southwest, and it can handle sizes starting from around 2ft (0.6m). When the tide is mid to high, the waves have more power and shape, making for a better ride. If Suicides is too small, there are other nearby spots like Peak Rock, Crunchies Pt, and 1st Reef which can give you shorter, steeper waves that still pack a punch.

This spot is particularly suitable for beginners due to its predictable nature and relatively safe conditions. When the tide is low, it gets shallow over the reef, so keep that in mind. Just south of Point Leo, you can check out Pines at Shoreham, which is another quality right point with similar wave styles and good conditions when Point Leo is working.
