Pointe Venus surf guide

Pointe Venus is a surf spot located on the northern coast of Tahiti, known for its exposed hammerhead reef. It offers challenging waves that tend to favor experienced surfers. The surf can be unpredictable, and while the spot does see some action, it's not the most consistent choice for a day out on the water. When the conditions are right, it can provide a fun experience but be aware that it typically has a moderate crowd, especially when the waves are firing.

The best swell direction for Pointe Venus is from the NorthEast, but it can also handle swells coming from the NorthWest. The waves usually break over live coral, offering mainly right waves that can create rapid tubes. The surf works best when the wave height is around 3 feet (about 1 meter). For optimal conditions, light winds from the South are preferred, and the spot can accommodate a range of tide heights from low to high. It's important to have solid skills when surfing here, as the waves can be shallow and tricky.

If you're looking for more wave options nearby, you might want to check out PK 15 or Rocky Point further east. These spots can offer different styles of surfing, especially the less challenging beachbreaks west of Papenoo, which might be better suited for less experienced surfers.
