More about Punta Burros surfspot
General: Punta Burros is a fun, somewhat soft right-hand reef with a lower-quality left-hand option around 40 minutes drive from Puerto Vallarta. A great wave for beginners, if not for the constant crowd. Most fun on a longboard, fish, or just about anything with a bit of float. Tides: Low to mid. Size: Chest-high to overhead. Wind: N, NE Swell: SW, S Bottom: Reef. Paddling: A bit of work, but not overly taxing. Spot Rating: Fun, semi-soft right-hand reef with a lower-quality left option.
Suitable for just about anyone.
You have three options: part (or stay) at Palladium Vallarta Resort and then walk 10 minutes to the wave; park on the road to the resort and walk for 20 minutes; or hire a panga in El Enclote or one of the small fishing villages.
Summer south swells are consistently fun.
Crowd Factor: This is a pretty well-traveled area, so the lineup tends to get crowded. Local Vibe: Locals definitely dominate, but they are pretty friendly, so you should be able to get some waves if you are respectful and can surf.
Stays relatively clean.
