Punta Care surf guide

Punta Care is a right pointbreak that can deliver some solid waves, especially with a good swell. The spot tends to work best with swells coming from the NorthEast, but it also picks up swells from the North and East. When it’s on, you can enjoy rides of up to 200 meters, making it a nice place for intermediate surfers looking to improve their skills.

The most reliable conditions are when the swell hits around 2ft (about 0.6 meters) and breaks over boulders, forming steep walls that are fun to ride. Waves break to the right here, and the ideal wind direction is from the South. You can surf here at different tide heights—low, mid, or high—but it’s good to aim for early morning sessions, as it tends to get busy when the conditions are firing.

While the spot has its moments, it’s important to be aware that it can get pretty crowded, especially when the surf is firing. If you’re an intermediate surfer, Punta Care is a place to challenge yourself and enjoy some quality wave time. Just be ready to share the lineup with others who are also looking to catch those good waves!
