Overview
Sa Mesa Longa is a reef break that peaks as a clean A-frame outside the reef enclosing the lagoon, on the exposed side of the Capo Mannu peninsula just north of Mandriola. It breaks both left and right over a shallow rock ledge, in very clean water, so keep an eye out for urchins.
When It Works
Sa Mesa Longa draws swell from southwest through northwest, with northwest swell the best match; sizable NW swells in particular really switch it on, though it also picks up SW and W energy. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3.7 m / 12 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for a southeast offshore wind, as the spot cannot be surfed once the wind turns onshore. It breaks through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an intermediate-level wave. Expect a crowded lineup that can carry some attitude when it is on. To reach the peak, use the channel on the left of the little island.
