Salybia Bay is located on the northern tip of Trinidad and is known for its unique surf scene. It’s often compared to mini G-land and can offer some decent waves when conditions are right. The spot can light up with swells, showcasing both the outside and inside of the reef. The area is accessible, so you can park right there, making it easy to grab your gear and hit the water.

The surf at Salybia Bay handles swell sizes from about 5ft to 12ft (1.5m to 3.7m), with good action breaking over a moss-covered reef. The waves are primarily right and left-hand breaks, so you can expect some variety. Best winds come from the south, south-southwest, and southwest, which helps create nice conditions. Tides can vary, but low to mid and mid to high tides tend to work best here. While it does require a decent swell to get going, when it’s firing, it can be a really fun spot for intermediate and expert surfers looking for shortboard sessions.

Crowds can build up when the waves are good, so be prepared to share the lineup. The local vibe is generally mellow, so just stay cool and keep it that way. Regarding seasons, the best time to surf here is during autumn and winter, especially when tropical cyclone swells roll in, but late fall through early spring can offer more consistent waves.
