More about Seal Point surfspot

Out on the tip of the bay, sharky Seal Point is split into 2 sections by the annoying Full Stop rock. Bigger SE swells may link them up into a long fast ride with barrel and carve sections and any winds from S-NW will work. Inside prefers higher tides, while high works outside.

Consistent and sometimes crowded when J-Bay is too small. SW-facing spots are exposed to plenty of “Roaring Forties” swell but are often onshore in the best swell season. Oyster Bay, to the W of J-Bay, is one of these places, only really worth surfing during the predominant summer E winds.
