Seascape sits in front of the Seascape Condominiums just east of Whale's Tail, tucked below the highest cliff along this stretch of the emerald coast. It's a sandy beach break that breaks much like nearby Pompano Joe's, and it marks the last spot to paddle out before the road turns inland toward Panama City Beach. Overall it's a below-average spot, and no one is making the drive here solely to surf it.
When It Works
Peaks break both left and right over sand, drawing swell from southwest to south-southeast (SW-SSE), and the spot is usable from 1.2 m / 4 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft. The inside runs waist- to head-high and is the better call when it's smaller, while the outside is the popular peak on big days and can stand up to overhead. Look for the best waves through spring, autumn, and winter, with hurricane season adding to the mix. Paddling out is easy on small days and gets tougher as the swell builds.
Wind and Tide
The cleanest conditions come on a north (N) offshore wind, with a workable wind window stretching from northwest through north to east-northeast (NW-N-ENE). It can work across low, mid, and high tide, though a rising tide is generally the better call.
Local Tips
The lineup stays quiet and can feel a little reserved. It suits everyone from beginners to experts and handles just about any board, from shortboards and fish to funboards and longboards. Keep an eye out for stray golf balls flying over from the Seascape golf course across the road.
