Seaside Park surf guide

Seaside Park is a surf spot located south of Seaside Heights. It's well-known for being a solid S swell magnet, making it a go-to for surfers looking to catch some good waves. When other spots in the area like Manasquan start to show their size from a small S swell, Seaside Park can often be packing waves that are twice as big and really fun to ride. Access here is easier compared to Seaside Heights, and the vibe is generally pretty chill, although you can expect some crowds, especially during summer.

The surf here works best on mid tide and can handle swell sizes from about 3ft (1m) to 8ft (2.4m). The main wave types are beach breaks, with both rights and lefts to ride depending on the day. The ideal wind direction is from the Southwest to West-Northwest, helping to make those waves more enjoyable. Seaside Park is suitable for a range of skill levels, from beginners to experts, so there's something for everyone. Just keep in mind that conditions can get a bit challenging on bigger days, so it’s best to know your limits.

In terms of environment, the area is relatively clean, and the sand bottom is easy to navigate, though watch out for shallow areas and rip currents. The spot does tend to become somewhat crowded, particularly in the summer months, but still offers a more laid-back surfing experience than some of the busier north spots. Seaside Park is best from September through March when conditions are more favorable for catching waves.
