Seca surf guide

Seca is a surf spot located on the Massambada Restinga, known for its lengthy stretch of beach with numerous potential peaks. It’s a good option, especially during E-S mid-size swells and when the winds are coming from the north. The vibe here is pretty laid-back, and if you’re willing to put in some effort, you’ll likely find a peak to yourself, even on weekends. If you’re exploring the area, make sure to check out various access points, including Seca and Praia Grande, which can deliver some decent lefts on solid swells.

The surf at Seca is quite manageable for beginners, with wave types being primarily beach breaks. The spot handles swell sizes starting at around 1ft (0.3 meters) and is best with southeast swell direction, but it also works with east and southwest swells. The waves break over sand, giving it a friendly feel for those just starting out. You can catch both left and right waves here, and the conditions tend to be more favorable during low, mid, and high tides, particularly when the wind is blowing from the north.

It's a pretty natural setup with no facilities around, so come prepared if you plan to stay for a while. Just remember that crowds might show up at Praia Grande when it’s firing, but generally, if you’re looking for a little more quiet, Seca is worth the visit. Don't hesitate to explore and find your own wave!
