Overview
Sharks Reef is a left-hand reef break near Preveza where good lefts unload over a flat rock ledge. The reef is covered in urchins, and the name comes from the local fishermen, who have hooked a few sharks in these waters.
When It Works
The break draws swell from west to northwest, with a northwest (NW) swell the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft, so you want some size in the water before the ledge starts to fire.
Wind and Tide
Look for an east (E) offshore wind to groom the lefts. The reef can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
