Sikhjalma surf guide

Sikhjalma is a righthand pointbreak located in a beautiful setting. The spot tends to promise more than it delivers when it comes to waves. Although it has the right setup to produce some quality surf, it often falls short of expectations. It can handle surf with swell sizes of up to 2 feet (about 0.6 meters) and typically comes alive when the north wind blows at speeds over 12 m/s.

The best conditions for surfing at Sikhjalma occur with a northeast swell direction. You’ll often find the waves breaking over an uneven reef, which gives it a unique texture. Ideally, the waves are more consistent during low, mid, or high tide, allowing surfers of varying skill levels, including beginners, to enjoy the ride. The best wind direction to complement the swell is from the southwest, which can help to clean up the waves a bit.

This spot works all year round, but just keep in mind that due to the northern winds, the water can be pretty cold even during summer months. So, make sure to bring a wetsuit if you plan to hit the water regularly.
