On a good day, Sky Williams hugs the fringing reef and canters down the extensive line, occasionally galloping through the odd barrel, before trotting into the protected cove. Swell direction will decide which horse you get - S is more long pony trek while W may be short course thoroughbred. Low tide only as too much water makes the going too soft.

From New Plymouth head south on the surf Highway, State Highway 45. Continue a little south of Opunake, just past Mataikahawai Road and just before Watino Road, park near the small stream. From here its a walk, following the creek down to the beach where you'll find a left hand point. (Megahume is the right hander on the same point)

Easier paddle out than Mangahume, but still a wave for those that know what they are doing. Nasty rocks.
