General: High quality, consistent beachbreak that can produce well-defined banks that generally work through the tides. This - plus the views across to Santander - ensures that when it's on, it draws a crowd. Long and dune backed, it joins with Loredo to create a massive beach. Maxes out when big. Tides: All tides Size: Waist to head high Wind: S, SE Swell: NW Bottom: Sand Paddling: Big paddle out, watch out for rips. Spot Rating: Long, consistent beach with many sandbanks, super fun.

Beginners when small, popular with surf schools, gets punchy when bigger.

Works year round but best September - November.

Crowd Factor: Popular when good due to proximity to city, but plenty of room to spread out. Local Vibe: Pretty mellow except when busy.

Thriving surf scene in carpark and village. Good beach facilities with large carpark, showers, surf school and lifeguards. Busy in summer season. Several surf shops, bars and other shops close by. Campsite just down the road. Also quite close to city of Santander. Some pollution from Santander.

OK in summer, usually poor after rain due to rivermouth.

Powerful waves and strong rips when size picks up.
