South Jetty / Table Bluff County Park is a sand-bottomed beach break that peels both left and right. These days the South Jetty itself is rarely surfed, but Table Bluff nearby stays a solid option when a small, clean summer swell rolls through.
When It Works
The bank draws swell from south to north and is usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft. Table Bluff is the one to head for on small, clean summer swells.
Wind and Tide
Look for a southeast offshore wind to groom it. It can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Access
Since South Jetty Road closed a few years ago, the South Jetty has been rarely surfed. Getting there means either having a key to the gate or paddling across the harbor entrance. Table Bluff, by contrast, is publicly accessible and the easier choice.
