More about Spanish Bay surfspot

Another scenic seascape, a.k.a South Moss Beach. Three spots here, all offshore with SE storm winds: the northernmost break is called Dunes, consistent righthanders over a reef/sand bottom. South of Dunes is a beachbreak commonly referred to as Cobblestones, despite the lack of any reef, surfable when small and clean; a powerful wave. Then there’s South Moss, at the far south end of the bay — peaks that bomb on the outside then mush through to the inside. Works best with lower tides. A bit further south is a nasty, rock strewn coastline where some tow-in madness takes place at Ghost Tree.

Pay to access through the Spanish Bay Golf Course & Resort. Reachable by paying the toll to drive onto the exclusive, golf course-rich 17 Mile Drive.
